As part of Heritage Week, Shaped by Water invites you to share your memories and stories of Limerick’s rivers, lakes, and waterways. This unique event series features a traditional Seanchaithe storytelling performance with live music, set in three iconic heritage sites: King John’s Castle, Lough Gur Visitor Centre, and the Adare Heritage Centre.

We warmly invite you to join us at the Adare Heritage Centre on August 19th at 3pm to hear stories and share your own experiences of life by the River Maigue, River Shannon, or Lough Gur.

If you’ve ever spent time on or near the water – as a fisherman, swimmer, walker, birdwatcher, boater, poacher, riverbank meditator, flood survivor, or even a turf carrier - we’d love for you to be part of this celebration.

Your stories will be recorded and added to the Irish Community Archive, ensuring that Limerick’s living waterway heritage is preserved for future generations.

The event is free and perfect for all ages. Children can take part by drawing what they hear or learning to interview grandparents about their memories of the waterways.
